M&T entrepreneurs, dust off those business plans!
Here is your chance to impress! At the 30th Anniversary, M&T will be holding its first business plan “friendly competition”. What better way for M&Ts to showcase the inventiveness that so typifies the program? A few selected business ideas will be chosen for presentation and panelist critique in front of an alumni/student audience. It promises to be an interesting and lively session.
Alumni judges will include:
Doug Alexander, M&T ’83, President of Internet Capital Group
Raj Amin, M&T ' 95, CEO HealthiNation
Jeffrey Lieberman, M&T '96, Managing Director, Insight Venture Partners
Rob Stavis ’84, Managing Partner at Bessemer Venture Partners
Roland Van der Meer, M&T '82, Managing Partner, Fuse Capital
Here’s how it will work:
Application: Interested alumni/undergraduates must fill out the below application and also submit a 200 word summary of their business concept. The idea may be an existing start-up business, or simply a business plan.
Deadline for submissions will be Monday, September 14th at 5:00pm EST. All applications can be submitted to Lea Engle at lengle@wharton.upenn.edu.
Selections: Approximately 4-5 entries will be selected by the 30th Anniversary Committee to be presented to the group. There will be 2 alternates. Nominated entries will be informed by October 23rd of their selection. Nominees and alternates should prepare a short audio-visual presentation.
Presentation: Each presentation will last no more than 6 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of feedback/advice from the judges and 1-2 questions from the audience. We will be on a strict time frame. The session will take place on Friday afternoon November 13th starting at approximately 5:00pm.
Prizes: There will be no prizes given. It is an exhibition, not a competition.
Sponsorships: sponsorships are available for this event. Please contact the Anniversary Committee.
Good luck!
