Penn’s unique educational vision leads to the M&T Program:
Penn made a revolutionary, educational decision 30 years ago with the creation of the M&T Program. This unique vision for interdisciplinary education introduced a program that combined two of Penn’s greatest assets – Penn Engineering and the Wharton School. This extraordinary step established the M&T Program as the premier program in interdisciplinary engineering/business education both nationally and internationally.
However, maintaining this leadership in the future presents a significant challenge. Competition for the very best students is becoming much more intense: Harvard has opened a new engineering school and now offers a BSE degree; MIT has launched a new dual-degree program linking engineering and business; Yale has expanded its engineering programs; and Princeton now offers a degree in Financial Engineering as well as a minor in Finance. These universities are strong competitors for the very best domestic and international students.
How do we continue to outpace competitors and remain as an innovator leader?
